My Broadband

Part of the  Broadband North Yorkshire campaign is to find out where the demand for better access is to help North Yorkshire County Council prioritise where broadband should be improved.

Connecting North Yorkshire from North Yorkshire County Council are now collecting this data officially – please go to www.northyorks.gov.uk/broadbandsurvey to let them know what you get and what you’d like.

For all the hype I cannot see the smaller villages of N Yorkshire being connected to HS Broadband in the next 5-10 years

Currently, we can only use limited dial up broadband due to the distance from the BT Exchange being some 12.5 kms. Mobile Broadband is marginally better due to the distance from mobile phone masts. At best we can get less than a 1G signal, and at worst no signal.

I would definitely like faster broadband speed so when I work from home I don’t have problems with downloading files for work. I work with web design and when I send emails with attachments or receive them it takes too long.
